Dish of the day

The
chaps at the bijou London Cocktail Club have been experimenting with culinary cocktails paired with a little something to eat on the side.
For £8 (around a pound more than a standard cocktail) guests can choose from the likes of a Black Manhattan – a Manhattan with a dash of smoky Jura whisky and Knorr beef stock – served with a dish of charcuterie, and a 9 Carat Daiquiri – a Havana 7yo daiquiri with the addition of carrot purée and mandarin liqueur, which was rather good – and an espresso cup of warm carrot and coriander soup.
We’re not so sure about the hot/cold combo, but a more culinary approach to cocktails seems to be catching, with some bars like Public House in London even ordering their cocktail list as ‘starters’, ‘mains’ and ‘deserts’.
