Speedrail specialist Bimber Distillery has teamed up with renowned cocktail bar Dry Martini to launch the 2018 Martini Challenge.
The competition calls on bartenders to showcase their artistic flair by creating a Martini-inspired cocktail with a garnish or food pairing.
Entrants must be in a team of two and the cocktail must include a minimum of 40ml of Bimber English Barley Vodka or Bimber Oak Aged Vodka. Bimber London Dry Gin can also be used, but accompanied by one of the vodkas.
Other rules include using a maximum of four ingredients (excluding the garnish) and garnishes can consist of multiple elements. Homemade bitters, shrubs and syrups are welcome, but the full recipe must be attached in your entry and must be easily replicable. Infusions are allowed. Time limit applies. Each team will receive 12 minutes to explain the creation and present their skills.
The final, on 26 March at Dry Martini London, will be judged by Javier De Las Meulas of Dry Martini, Alessandro Palazzi of Dukes Bar, Mike Sweetman of the United Kingdom Bartenders Guild and industry legend Peter Dorelli.
The prize? A ‘whisky distiller’s experience’ at Bimber Distillery, flights to Barcelona to visit Dry Martini Barcelona, personalised Bimber spirits, engraved cocktail shakers, a bottle of Bimber’s new vodka and Dry Martini food and drinks vouchers.
