Britvic #mixersmatters cocktail competition

Iconic British soft drinks brand Britvic is celebrating its new look with community activity and the #mixersmatter cocktail competition

Britvic has partnered with Imbibe to run a cocktail competition, asking bartenders to create a signature serve using Britvic Mixers.

The final cocktail must be a maximum of five ingredients, including garnish. The lucky winner will receive: a Life Of Riley Buffalo Leather Drinks Case and gold barware set, complete with gold-plated 50cl shaker, 45ml jigger, 40cm barspoon and 200mm strainer – along with the added bonus of a 42cm Nokagiri ice saw.

On top of all this, Britvic will also be sending a selection of its newly relaunched Mixers and Juices range, so the winner can get mixing straight away! Deadline for entries: Friday 14 April.

How to enter
  1. Entrants must be aged 18 years or older on the day of registration and working within the hospitality sector in the UK. No entries from outside of the UK will be accepted. Only one entry per person is permitted. Entrants must be eligible to travel (valid passport and visa) and available in April in London for the competition finals.
  2. The promotion opens at 10:00 on the 8th March 2017 and closes at 10.00 on 14th April 2017. The period between opening and closing is the “Promotion Period”. All entries must be submitted by 09.00 on 14th April 2017.
  3. Entries can be made at by submitting: your first name, surname, age, where you are currently employed, email address, social media handle, cocktail recipe and an optional image. You must ensure that your details are correct at time of entry.
  4. The cocktail recipe may contain a maximum of five ingredients. Your recipe may specify a garnish. The maximum number of ingredients does not include the garnish. Your recipe must include a clear, step by step description of how to prepare the cocktail.
  5. By submitting your details online you are consenting to Imbibe using those details to contact you with future communications regarding this Promotion & the Britvic brand.
Judging process
  1. All valid and complete entries received in the Promotion Period will be assessed by a panel of judges, selected by Imbibe, containing at least one independent judge. Them selected judges shall be impartial and be asked to declare any interests they have in them competition or any competitor. Imbibe reserves the right to replace or appoint new judges at any time.
  1. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries or entries sent through agencies and third parties will not be accepted.
  1. The cocktails will be judged on the following criteria: their originality, inspiration, taste and link to Britvic.
  1. The judges will select at least 4 of the entries as finalists and these entrants will be notified by telephone and/or email using the information provided on their entry form. This notification will occur within 48 hours of the Promotion Period ending.
  1. The finalists will be invited to attend the competition final, which will take place in late April in London at a venue to be confirmed. Full details will be supplied by the Promoter in the invite to all finalists.
  1. If attempted notification using all the contact details supplied by the finalist at time of entry are returned as undeliverable, or if a finalist cannot be verified within the time required, or if a finalist is otherwise unable to accept their status as a finalist, cannot attend the local final or is otherwise ineligible, their selection as finalist will be forfeited and an alternative finalist may be selected from reserves judged at the same time at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
The finals
  1. At the final, finalists will be required to prepare at least two identical cocktails in accordance with the recipe you entered for judging and photography purposes.
  1. The entries during the final will be assessed on the same criteria as above. Imbibe shall select a judging panel for the final on the same basis as detailed above.
  1. If the judges determine that your cocktail preparation method, ingredients (including garnishes), props, equipment or glassware/containers are unsafe or unhygienic you will be disqualified.
  1. The equipment and facilities described below will be provided at the final:
  2. Cubed and crushed ice.
  3. Citrus and sugar syrup.
