Wine importer Flint Wines is calling on the UK’s brightest young sommeliers to enter its inaugural Young Sommelier of the Year competition.
Taking place in February next year, the competition is open to professional sommeliers working in the UK and aged under 30. Applicants must have a minimum of one year experience on a restaurant floor and be responsible for wine buying decisions.
The ultimate victor will be crowned the first Flint Wines Young Sommelier of the Year and will have the unique opportunity to blend their own wine at the family estate of Château Pesquié located in Ventoux in the southern Rhône. The wine will then be distributed across the UK later in the year by Flint Wines.
Sound like a bit of you? To enter the competition, applicants must send an initial written submission outlining their
approach to building and maintaining an innovative and dynamic list. The panel of judges will shortlist the entries of five sommeliers.
