Fancy featuring in Imbibe magazine for two months, along with winning a very special bottle of The Balvenie and an exclusive preview of The Craftsmen’s Dinner Series two featuring Michel Roux Jr? Of course you do. And that’s exactly what The Balvenie is offering, with its Dipping Dogs competition.
Once used by distillery workers to liberate whisky from casks in the warehouse (behind the watch of the office and accounts department), dipping dogs were tied to the belt and stored down the workers trouser legs. They were then sneakily dropped into the casks when the exciseman’s back was turned – a secret way to drink the whisky.
The brief is to create a serve inspired by the hand-crafted nature and authenticity of The Balvenie, using the dipping dog story as inspiration for your cocktail.
The winner will be featured in a double-page spread in Imbibe covering the competition.
The first round of judging will take place by publishing the serve entry on social media and tagging @TheBalvenie on Facebook, @BalvenieUK on Twitter or @TheBalvenie on Instagram, and emailing [email protected] by 30 April, with a second round to follow and the winner finally being announced at the end of May.
