The on-trade tasting for Southern Wine Roads will take place on 23 April at Bar Topolski in south-east London. The open-pour tasting will showcase 70+ Greek Wines, all minimal intervention, organic and biodynamic.
Mark Andrew MW will be hosting a masterclass on Xinomavro across Greece at 3pm – 4:30pm, looking at the grape variety’s potential for fine wine and for distinguishing varying unique terroirs.
The open-pour tasting will cast a spotlight on Greece’s finest wines, many of which are made with minimal intervention and organic or biodynamic work in the vineyards, and some with zero sulphur additions.
The tasting will examine varieties and styles from across all Greek PDOs and PGIs: from Northern Greece, Central Greece and the Peloponnese, as well as island wines (from Santorini, Cephalonia, Samos, Paros, Lesbos, Zante and Corfu).
In addition, the tasting will also highlight the Agiorgitiko grape variety through different styles within the largest PDO region of Nemea.
