For the second year running, Sud de France will be organising the Sud de France Sommelier Competition, to promote knowledge and understanding of the Sud de France wine offer.
Forty-five entrants – including Arnaud Gouber (Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons) and Rémi Cousin (The Fat Duck) - will compete for the title. Results will be announced on Monday September 13 after the finals at the Maison de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon, in central London.
The judging panel will be chaired by Richard Bampfield MW and includes last year’s winner Romain Henry (formerly of Gordon Ramsay’s Maze, now at O Bontemps in Languedoc-Roussillon), Frédéric Grappe of independent natural wines merchant Dynamic Vines, Tamlyn Currin of www.jancisrobinson.com, and Sud de France ambassador-chef Bjorn Van der Horst of London’s East Side Inn.
