Many of us reach for a darker beer when the cold weather sets in, and it seems ginger-ninja Crabbie’s has done just that – and added a bit of winter spice to boot.
Hot on the heels of the brand’s pioneering Ginger IPA, it has announced the next addition to its Crafty Ginger Collection in the form of a Ginger Stout, which claims to be the first of its kind.
Making another foray into the craft-beer market, Crabbie’s has once again teamed up with Black Country brewers Sadler’s, combining the latter’s Mud City Stout with the distinctive fiery bite of its alcoholic ginger beer. The 4.2% abv ginger stout will initially be available in a 500ml bottle at RRP £1.80.
‘We can see from market data and industry trends that darker beers, such as stouts, are expected to see a bit of a renaissance as part of the craft-beer category growth,’ said Anja Weise-O’Connor, senior marketing manager at Crabbie’s.
‘We’ve delivered an exceptional and intriguing liquid at just the right time, which we believe can tap into this anticipated movement in the market.’
As with the rest of the Crafty Ginger Collection – which now contains Original, Raspberry, IPA and Stout – the spicy component is provided by the company’s six-week steeped ginger.
And, the brand says, the release showcases its new packaging design, which aims to provide a ‘modern take on category conventions’.
