Wine and beer supplier Morgenrot is embracing Dry January with the UK launch of Playground IPA, a non-alcoholic beer from Dutch brewery vandeStreek.

The beer incorporates five different American hops, including Mosaic, Citra and Cascade and clocks in at less than 0.5% abv.

‘There’s a huge opportunity in the UK market for flavour-rich non-alcoholic craft beers,’ said John Critchley, Morgenrot’s commercial director.

‘With more and more consumers switching to low-alcohol options we’ve been on the lookout for a unique brand to help fill this void. The Netherlands has been developing a fantastic reputation in the craft beer world and the vandeStreek Brouwerij has been at the heart of this. Their Playground IPA is an incredible low-alcohol beer, capturing the essence of a classic IPA without sacrificing the flavour.’

The IPA is amber in colour, with a lacy head, and it promises citrus and tropical notes, a dose of bitterness and a robust finish.

Morgenrot isn’t the only company taking advantage of the thirst for non-alcoholic drinks this month – the launch of Playground IPA follows Asahi’s release of Peroni Libera 0.0% last week.
