There have been few sightings of Budweiser Budvar’s unpasteurised yeast beer in the UK. Until now, that is. The Czech brewer is selecting 50 accounts throughout the country to stock it on a permanent basis.
The intention is to find top-end pubs that have the facilities and expertise to do this unpastuerised beer justice. These outlets will receive support, training and POS.
The announcement arrives on the heels of Tuesday’s Court of Appeal ruling that both Budvar and Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser can continue to use the Budweiser name in the UK. The same court granted both companies permission to register the name in 2000. This recent ruling is the conclusion of legal proceedings begun by Anheuser Busch in 2005.
