London’s Pearl Liang took top honours in Tsingtao’s nationwide Legacy of Taste competition this year.
The restaurant received its award at a ceremony at the Courthouse Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Soho late last month, triumphing over three other finalists, namely Chop Chop in Edinburgh, Sweet Mandarin in Manchester and Gourmet Garden in London.
‘Pearl Liang really did stand out for me as it is a truly authentic restaurant which sets the best standards for Chinese dining,’ said celebrity chef and lead judge, Ching He Huang. ‘The finalists were judged on the quality of food, attention to detail, service and surroundings and Pearl Liang scored the highest in all of these areas.’
The competition, now in its third year, was set up to promote Chinese food and Tsingtao beer, with the further goal of providing support to trade customers and driving consumer awareness. Tsingtao is distributed in the UK by Halewood International.
