Wild Beer unveils new Sleeping Limes beer

Drinks: Beers, Drinks
Location: England

The classic bottle of lager with a lime wedge jammed unceremoniously into its neck just got a serious upgrade in the form of a new lime-focused beer from Somerset-based Wild Beer Co.

With Mexican food as an inspiration, as well as building on the brewery’s Sleeping Lemons beer, Sleeping Limes takes its headline fruit seriously, incorporating both fresh pulp and zest, as well as some sea salt. The beer, intended to be crisp and clean, has been brewed with a lager yeast. As with other Wild beers, the result is described on the label with three words, in this case: ‘Limes + Salt + Gose’.

In making food-matching recommendations for its new citrus beer, Wild goes beyond the obvious yet entirely effective Mexican cuisine route, looking to other regional cuisine that goes big on lime: South East Asian.

Sleeping Limes (4.6% abv) joins other Wild Beer Co products in regional wholesalers such as Nectar and Cave Direct, as well as Matthew Clark on a national basis. It’s available in 330ml cans and 30-litre key kegs.
