Soft drinks and mixers company Fentimans has its eye on the sustainability movement as it unveils plans to eliminate single-use and non-recyclable plastic from its business operations.
The beverage producer is adopting the guidelines set out by the UK Plastics Pact, a pledge created by the non-profit organisation Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP). The pact’s goal is to ensure that 100% of the UK’s plastic packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025.
Last year, Fentimans introduced a canned range to its offerings, which otherwise consists of glass bottles. The company has not revealed which aspects of its operations will need to change further to meet the UK Plastics Pact’s standards.
Earlier this month, Carlsberg revealed its new packaging system, which it says will cut its plastic use by 1,000 tonnes per year.
