Raising funds for Barrafina Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross, the new site is set to launch in October with 34 seats at the bar, a private dining room for 20 and a weather-proof outdoor terrace with its own distinct menu.
‘We’ve been humbled by the level of interest in the crowdfunding raise and are delighted that so many of our friends and patrons want to be a part of what we’re doing,’ Sam Hart, CEO, told Imbibe.
‘We’re really looking forward to opening Barrafina Coal Drops Yard and showing all our investors what they have helped create.’
Harts is now over-funding and taking on extra investment, which it says it will use to accelerate its developments with the restaurant.
‘We look forward to sharing more on our progress shortly’, wrote Hart on the crowdfunding platform.
Barrafina first opened in 2007 in Soho, and was joined in 2014 and 2015 by the Adelaide Street and Drury Lane sites, both in Covent Garden. The original Soho site was awarded a Michelin Star in 2014 which it has retained ever since.
At the time of writing, £1,877,500 had been raised – 250% of the initial target. The largest single investment was £150,000.
