It’s that time of year again. Nominations for our annual Imbibe Personality of the Year are officially open.

Do you know someone shaking up the industry? Are you making waves at your place of work? If so, send those names in, as it’s time to celebrate those who make our industry so special.

You’ve got the venue, the offering, the Instagram following, but without the great people working behind all that, you’ve got nothing, right? These talented, passionate and hard-working people are the backbone of the on-trade, and the Imbibe Personality of the Year awards were created to recognise them.

The competition is now in its eighth year, and we’re calling on you, the beloved on-trade, to help us get the shortlist together for 2018.

Who really stood out in the last 12 months? Who deserves that glittering trophy? Head to to have your say – you’ve got until 27 November.

With many more to be revealed, this year’s judging panel includes previous winners the Northcote’s Craig Bancroft, Gin Journey’s Leon Dalloway, Beer Belle Annabel Smith and Mixology Group’s Myles Cunliffe.

2017 Personality of the Decade, Ryan Chetiyawardana

The winners of POTY 2018 will join a long list of esteemed recipients. Over the past few years, these have included Xavier Rousset MS, Jane Peyton BS, Aidan Bowie, Gérard Basset MW OBE, Chris and Jeff Galvin, Ago Perrone, Durham Atkinson, Ryan Chetiyawardana, George Bergier, the late Dick Bradsell and many more.

Once we’ve gathered this year’s nominations, a panel of industry experts will draw up a shortlist and vote to select 2018’s winners.

Hot Stuff Award (outstanding achievement for those under 30)

Please note: As Imbibe is a magazine for on-trade drinks professionals we’re looking for nominees in these categories who are actively involved with preparing, buying or selling drinks.
