The Stable in Fistral Beach has been voted the best Cornish cider pub of 2017 by CAMRA members in the county.
Cider lovers in Cornwall charted the quality of more than 5,000 pints and scored them, and were still able to stand up long enough to decide which pub offered the best.
They also rated overall experience, cleanliness, welcome and service before determining the winner.
‘It’s great to be recognised by CAMRA for our commitment to cider – they’re the only people we know who are as passionate about cider as we are,’ said manager Dan Rollerson.
The Stable has specialist cider bars in more than 15 cities across the UK and has been broadening its appeal beyond its west country heartland, in areas like London, Birmingham and Cardiff.
The Stable in Fistral Beach has a range of 80 ciders and serves pizza to accompany them. Staff were presented with the award at a ceremony on Saturday.
‘If you like cider the Stables on Fistral Beach is the place to go,’ Linda Dopson from CAMRA Kernow said. ‘That choice is unbelievable as members from Cornwall Camra found out on Saturday.
‘Dan and all the staff made us so welcome. We had a taste of there own cider on arrival and later enjoyed Cornish meats and cheeses and the Stables lovely pizzas.
‘After the presentation with trumpet and all they where announced Cornwall Camra cider pub for 2017. Then it was time some cider tasting. We tried eight different ciders from sweet to dry and raspberry flavoured as well.’
