Montcalm aids ETM’s booming December growth

Independent pub, bar and restaurant operator ETM has reported 23% sales growth for December, citing its partnership with luxury hotel group Montcalm as a reason for its success.

The 13-venue company also reported like-for-like sales for December up 6% on the previous year.

In late 2016 it opened two new sites at The Montcalm Hotel in Finsbury Square: the Burdock bar on the ground floor, and the Aviary, a rooftop bar/restaurant.

Ed Martin, ETM co-founder said: ‘We are extremely pleased with the group’s performance – despite tough trading conditions we have delivered positive like-for-like growth.

‘Much of the success of December can be attributed to our dedicated sales team who played a vital role over the festive period and the collaborative relationship we enjoy as F&B partner to Montcalm Luxury Hotels, where four of our venues sit across two properties – Aviary and Burdock at Royal London House, and the Jugged Hare and Chiswell Street Dining Rooms at The Brewery London City.’

ETM has just opened its latest site, the Greenwood, at Victoria’s new Nova development. The 11,000 square foot venue combines a restaurant, pub and sports lounge.

ETM recently added to its management team, including the appointment of a new chief financial officer. The bolstered team will support its planned expansion programme for 2017, and continued brand development.
