Máté Csatlós, of The Dorchester has been crowned the winner in the UK heat of the Monin Cup cocktail competition and will go on to compete in the international final, due to be held in December at the Frenchest landmark in France: the Eiffel Tower.
The UK final was held at LAB, Soho with Jake Burger, Jamie Stephenson and Monin’s own James Coston playing judge and jury. The challenge was to create one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic cocktail within an eight minute time slot, using at least one Monin product in each, including one syrup and one purée.
Csatlós’ prizes included a cheque for £500 and the all-important cup. The runners up were Lee Hyde from Met Bar, London and Dan Crowther from Jake’s Bar, Leeds in second and third place, respectively.
