Bacardi Legacy open for UK entries

Other: Competitions

It’s time to dust off that recipe you’ve been telling all your friends will make you the next big name in bartending… The tenth instalment of Bacardi Legacy has opened for UK entries.

Successful applicants will compete in regional heats before the UK finalist is chosen in Amsterdam this November. There’s only one space on the plane to Mexico City for the global final.

To get the creative juices flowing, UK brand ambassador for Bacardi rums, Metinee Kongsrivilai, has been hosting a series of workshops across the length and breadth of the country, along with global rum ambassador Ian Burrell.

Last month the duo spread the word in Leeds, Birmingham and London. Next up is Belfast on Monday 11 September and Edinburgh on 13 September (details below).

Each workshop has been broken into three bite-sized parts: The History of Rum Classics, How Not to Win the Legacy Competition and Tasting The Liquids.

‘We’re very excited to see what this year’s competition brings to the table,’ Kongsrivilai said. ‘There have been some truly outstanding cocktails produced through Legacy and we are in no doubt that this year will be any different.’
