The Bloomsbury Club Bar welcomes The Baxter Inn

Location: Australia, England
Other: Venues

With successful stints from The Clumsies and BlackTail under its belt, The Bloomsbury Club Bar is at it again, welcoming Sydney’s The Baxter Inn this month.

Part of its Club Residencies Project, the three-time Best Bar in Australia (according to 50 Best) will take over the stick at The Bloomsbury Club from 24-27 May with a bespoke cocktail menu.

Sydney’s The Baxter Inn

Along with an exciting menu, great cocktails and good old Aussie chat, the bar will also bring over its legendary Old Fashioned on tap, something of a first for us Brits.

Like the sound of that? Well, it gets even better (kind of), as The Baxter Inn, famed for its 630-bottle strong whisk(e)y selection, will be bringing over one of its most exclusive whiskies to serve during the residency.

To get your palate going, the menu aims to ‘bring Sydney to London’, including a Clarence St. Spritz: Tanqueray Gin, alkalised water, marjoram infused bianco vermouth and lemon & fresh sorrel sherbet; Bondi Beach: Ketel One, framboise EDV, lemon juice, saltbush honey water served on a bed of edible sand with a scoop of Tangelo and Finger Lime Sorbet; and the Opera House: coming with a garnish of headphones allowing guests to listen to a symphony of low-pitch Baron Ochs and high-pitch Queen of Night Aria from The Magic Flute, whilst sipping their cocktail containing Pampero Blanco, Pampero Anejo, Aussie falernum, bitter, pommelo juice, lime and coconut sugar… we’re sold.

If all that hasn’t enticed you, The BCB is going all-out-immersive with this one, featuring a collection of racing and boxing memorabilia, mirroring the interior at Baxter, alongside the letter board menu. There’s also a bespoke food menu available throughout the residency, plus complimentary takeaway pretzels…

Is it the 24th yet?
