The range of three drinks was created by South London-based bottled cocktail company World of Zing, which crafts prebatched tipples by hand for more than 150 venues.
The first cocktail, an Earl Grey Old Fashioned, marries Woodford Reserve bourbon, Earl Grey syrup and bourbon bitters and is inspired by the hotel’s afternoon tea service.
The second is a Sherry Wood Negroni with Bombay Sapphire gin, Martini Rosso, grapefruit-infused liqueur and a sherry wood infusion.
The range is rounded out by a Cherry Blossom Martinez, which features Bombay Sapphire, Martini Rubino, a cherry blossom tincture, orange bitters, Sangue Morlacco liqueur and maraschino, drawing influence from The Langham’s sister hotel in Hong Kong.
‘As [The Langham is] the home of the Artesian Bar, we had to be particularly conscious of [the hotel’s]world-renowned cocktail reputation,’ said World of Zing founder Pritesh Mody, who oversaw the range’s development.
‘As such, we paid considerable attention to the heritage of the venue in order to create a selection of cocktails that matched the incredible standards set by The Langham’s existing drinks offering.’
The Langham’s addition of prebatched drinks comes at a time when many hotels are taking creative approaches or moving in new directions with their bar programmes. The Corinthia tapped Marcis Dzelzainis and Michael Sager to revamp Bassoon Bar; American Bar and Scarfes Bar have new head bartenders and St Martin’s is hosting a pop-up with Athens bar The Clumsies in September.
