Four Pillars Gin has launched the first product in its Bartender Series of gins, a Spiced Negroni Gin, into the UK.
The new gin is the brainchild of co-founder and master distiller of Four Pillars Gin, Cameron MacKenzie, and one of Australia’s top bartenders, Jason Williams.
‘With so many people still serving and enjoying Negronis, the timing seemed absolutely right to bring Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin to the UK market,’ Samantha Burke, head of sales and marketing at UK distributor Love Drinks, said.
‘It’s the first gin in the Bartender Series and it is quite likely there could be a collaboration in the future with a UK bartender,’ she teased Imbibe.
In 2014, MacKenzie and Williams said they wanted to create a gin specifically for the Negroni, to cut through the Campari and vermouth, and just like that the idea for Spiced Negroni was born.
Four Pillars joined the Love Drinks portfolio in December and Burke could not be happier at the new addition.
‘The response to the Four Pillars Gin range has been extremely positive,’ she says. ‘The team at Four Pillars Gin are making outstanding and innovative gins that are truly unique, yet complement existing gin offerings. Their use of local and exotic botanicals really gives an amazing flavour to the gin.’
Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin is, of course, designed to be used in a Negroni, but it can be equally enjoyed in a G&T, the company said.
Simply add 50ml of Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin in a tall glass filled with ice, add a slice of blood orange, or a juicy orange if not in season, and top with the tonic of your choice.

30ml Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin
30ml sweet vermouth – we like Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
Method: Pour ingredients over ice in an Old Fashioned glass. Stir for 5 to 10 seconds. Twist the orange peel over the drinks and place it in.
