Dandelyan has taken home the title of Imbibe Drinks List of the Year in a bar-studded awards ceremony in London’s Soho last night.
The bar emerged triumphant in a field of some of the UK’s best known names, in the inaugural competition in association with MIXXIT.
Dandelyan won over judges with cocktails such as Monkey Magic and Pinnacle Point Fizz from its second menu titled Hunter, Gatherer, Shaman and Explorer, which explores the effect botany has had on civilisations and history. The menu’s readability and customer-friendliness was also praised, with headline descriptions, illustrations of glassware and a guide to when the drinks might be best enjoyed in the day.
Guests at the famed 100 Wardour Street sipped on serves that included a Courvoisier Espresso Martini, Auchentoshan and Ale, a Kyoto Kitty and Macallan whisky – a nod to sponsor MIXXIT’s portfolio.
Judges for the competition included Jared Brown, Anistatia Miller, Alex Kratena, Michael Butt, David T Smith, Neil Ridley, Joel Harrison, Peter Dorelli and Amanda Humphrey, as well as the Imbibe editorial team.
‘The Dandelyan menu is perfectly executed for everybody, no matter what you want, or your knowledge, you can use it easily,’ added fellow judge Alex Kratena.
‘The design of the menu is second-to-none, the drinks interesting and delicious, and there are nifty little touches which help guide the customer without confusing them,’ said Imbibe deputy editor Laura Foster. ‘It really is a menu that helps illustrate why London is at the forefront of the global cocktail scene.’
