Showing again what a fantastic industry hospitality is, leading bartenders from across the capital have announced they’ll be throwing a fundraiser for the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Trailer Happiness’ Sly Augustin

On Sunday 9 July, a group of the best bars in London will be coming together for a one-fundraiser event, shaking up cocktails with 100% of the revenue going to charities such as Rugby Portobello and The Harrow Club, associated with the tragedy.

Making their way to Westbank in Notting Hill, bars including Callooh Callay, City Social, Trailer Happiness and Barrio Bars will be taking turns behind the stick, with the drinks menu changing throughout the day.

If great cocktails aren’t enticing enough, there will also be food, a charity auction, live music including DJs and a guest set from noughties duo The Shapeshifters. We Stand Together T-shirts by the W11 Campaign will also be on sale on the day.

Ticket price, which will be donated in full to the chosen charities, will be £20 and will include three full-size cocktails, with more drinks will be available to buy on the day.

Heading up the team, Sly Augustin, of Notting Hill’s Trailer Happiness said: ‘The events at Grenfell have affected me deeply. But the one ray of light was the incredible response from the community. Regular people stepped up and gave time and possessions without a second thought.

‘The bar world has an equally strong sense of community – people you don’t know will go out of their way to help you as standard. It was no surprise when people within the industry reached out and offered support immediately after the Grenfell disaster. What I didn’t realise is just how many people wanted to help and just how many brands were willing to get involved.

‘I can’t wait to see the culmination of this generosity, and we intend to grow Community Spirit beyond this recent tragedy, fundraising to give back to local communities across the capital on an ongoing basis.’
