We love gin, you love gin (or do if you know what’s good for you) but none of us love gin as much as The Feathers hotel in Woodstock (that’s Oxfordshire, not the 1960s hippy haven).
The hotel bar has amassed an incredible 161 gins over the past three years, and last Friday saw the collection officially named the world’s largest, by the folk at Guinness World Records. An adjudicator took 45 minutes to tot up and double check the selection, before giving the nod and presenting the official certificate (alas, there was no sign of Cheryl Baker or Kriss Akabusi).
General manager, Jeremy Duplessis, said of the achievement, ‘It’s absolutely fantastic to be crowned a Guinness World Record breaker. We have been building on the collection for the last three years and have picked up gins from all corners of the world, so it’s great to have our efforts rewarded.’
