Thatcher and the ‘Cham

Location: England, Europe
Other: Venues

The 1980s was the decade of Margaret Thatcher, the miners’ strikes (possibly linked to the former…), Rubik’s Cubes, neon lights and Babycham (other things happened too, we’ll admit). The sparkling perry remains iconic, though rarely used, within the land of drinks, and is seemingly ripe for a revival.

Enter the equally kitschy, Thatcher-themed Maggie’s in Fulham, and its brand-spanking-new Babycham bar. The ‘cham is being used in a trio of specially-developed cocktails, named Lady in Red, Boom & Bust and Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am. The latter (pictured) is a blend of Goldschläger, Cabrito Blanco tequila, lemon juice, lychee, sugar and Babycham. Sweet.
