This May, Maxxium UK is launching the world’s first natural yoghurt liqueur to the UK on- and off-trade. Bols Natural Yoghurt Liqueur is made using fresh white yoghurt (funnily enough) which is sourced from the very finest Dutch cows, and continues with Lucas Bols’ ever-present aim of doing things differently: blue curaçao and pump-action liqueur foam, anyone?

Bols Natural Yoghurt Liqueur comes packaged in a white, matte bottle to protect the liquid from sunlight, but as with most dairy products (stinking cheese, excepted)tastes best when chilled.

The liquid is recommended served both neat or mixed in cocktails, especially the brand’s perfect serve, the Strawberry Cheesecake, around which much of the promotional activity will be centred. As the liquid itself is opaque, it lends drinks an attractive, chalky hue and the flavour is creamy, but there’s enough acidity to stop the taste from being cloying, unlike some cream-based concoctions.
