Takamaka Rum, ‘the spirit of the Seychelles’, is about to land in the UK on-trade thanks to Highball Brands.
Made in the Seychelles by brothers Richard and Bernard d’Offay, the rum is produced from high quality, local ingredients. The brothers were so inspired by their grandfather’s Rum Arrange recipe that they made their own.
White Rum, Spiced Rum, Extra Noir, Coco Rum and St André varieties will all be available.

Not familiar with Takamaka Rum? It is made with water collected from the Vallée de Mai because of its high mineral content. The sugarcane is exclusively grown for Takamaka by a cooperative of independent family farms, which is then blended with molasses-based rums.
The distillation and blending process is overseen by master distiller Dave Boule. The rum goes through a copper pot still distillation before a final column still. American and French Oak, as well as second use bourbon barrels, are used to mature the aged rums.

Takamaka White Rum (38% abv, 700ml), £24.45
Has a fresh and clean aroma with a soft, creamy character and natural aromatic undertones.
Takamaka Spiced Rum (38% abv, 700ml), £24.75
A vanilla and caramel aroma with local spices providing deliciously smooth top notes on the palate. A pure finish is coupled with lingering notes of vanilla and caramel.
Takamaka Extra Noir (38% abv, 700ml), £25.25
Using select aged rums from new French and old use bourbon oak, this rum has a dark caramel appearance and aroma, with a full bodied elegance, and a long, warming finish.
Takamaka Coco Rum (25% abv, 700ml), £19.75
Takamaka White Rum infused with pure coconut extract. A strong coconut aroma is complemented by hints of vanilla and coconut on the palate, without being overbearingly sweet.
Takamaka St André (40% abv, 1L)
A sipping rum, it is aged for eight years and gently filtered to preserve the flavours. It has a clear amber appearance and aroma of vanilla and spice. The delicate flavour of vanilla mixes with marmalade and oak, along with a touch of spice, for a smooth, luxurious and lingering finish.
