The Islay Boys launch UK distribution with Emporia Brands

We love news of a collaboration, and this time it’s Emporia Brands, teaming up with award-winning The Islay Boys of Scotland to launch its brand into the UK.

Hailing from the Rhinns Peninsula on the isle of Islay, the aptly named Islay boys – Donald MacKenzie and Mackay Smith – are the gents behind the brand’s three expressions.

The first, Flatnöse Blended Scotch Whisky, comes in at 43% abv, is non-chill filtered and is said to be rich and creamy, with hints of pepper and smoke. Flatnöse Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (46% abv) is also non-chill filtered, and lightly peated with hints of honey and citrus. Finally, Bårelegs Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes in at 46% abv, is again non-chill filtered and is peated and crisp, with subtle sweetness.

‘We are delighted to be working with the dedicated and professional team at Emporia to help grow our brands in our home market – we love the fact that the chairman of Emporia Brands, James Rackham, was married on Islay, making us all Islay Boys together,’ said Donald and Mackay on the collaboration.
