With just one day left to apply for trade passes, we’ve rounded up the must-see and taste moments of next week’s DrinkUp.London festival, London Wine Week.
Starting on Monday 14th and running until Sunday 20th May, if you work in the trade you can apply for a code to get a free digital pass for the week. This will get you into the festival hub and entitle you to wine flights for £5 at participating venues.
To apply for a code, email firstname.lastname@example.org with proof of employment before Friday 11th May.
1. Pikes Winery takeover
Legendary Australian winery Pikes based in the Clare Valley will be taking over the winery bar at Renegade London Wine for one day only – Saturday 19th.
The wine-making team from Australia will be there pouring their incredible rieslings and reds. All of Renegade’s usual guest wines will be suspended for the day as the team focus on Pikes.
2. Berry Bros. & Rudd wine bar
Berry Bros. & Rudd is opening its first wine bar – at the heart of the LWW hub at Flat Iron Square.
While they may be Britain’s oldest wine merchant, don’t be fooled into thinking they’re old school. The range of wines available at this pop-up event will include bottles from some of the most exciting and innovative producers on the planet.
Wines will be available by the glass and by the bottle and for the inquisitive wine lover exclusive flights will also be available to buy, with special offers for LWW festival pass holders.
The bar will be open from 17.00-23.30 on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th May at Tap & Bottle Wine Bar, Flat Iron Square.
3. Champagne & Co.
Into champagne? This LWW Champagne & Co. will be popping-up with an incredible range sparkling wines including Pol Roger champagnes and some other smaller, family-owned wines.
This pop-up will run between Tuesday 15th to Sunday 20th May in Flat Iron Square.
4. LWW X Bedales of Borough closing party
In a fortuitous turn of events the last day of LWW – Sunday 20th May – also happens to be the final service of Bedales of Borough before they close up shop for a four months refurb. Naturally this warrants a party.
With a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival, deals on wine as they clear out their cellar and live music from local musicians it’ll be a send-off to remember. It’s also just round the corner from the hub so there’s every excuse to make a day of it and see out this LWW in style.
