Newcomer Wines is promising its ‘most serious wine and music collaboration to date’ as it prepares to host the official closing party of 31 Days of Riesling this month.

The all-day party, which will be held at Newcomer Wines in Dalston, East London, on Sunday 30 July, will be preceded by a producer-led trade tasting of wines from each of Newcomer’s new agencies.
This will be followed by an all-day party with music from Wine & Vinyl – an events project set up by wine journalist Darren Smith and musician Ben Adamo. Music will be provided by Rob Butler of Be With Records, supported by Ben Adamo, a DJ and bassist for electropop group Fujiya & Miyagi, and Shoreditch-based Sister Ray Records.
The event is being supported by Wines of Germany, whose 31 Days of Riesling annual promotion sees scores of events happening at venues across the UK throughout July.

‘Every summer shops and bars across the UK participate in the Riesling-themed festivities, and we will be joining the party for the first time this year,’ Newcomer Wines’ Peter Honegger said.
‘My partner Daniela and I have been researching growers from Germany over the past one and a half years and were amazed by many of the people we met in all the different regions we travelled. We can’t wait to welcome a handful of them here in London this month.
‘This will be a unique opportunity to taste these top German producers’ wines side by side. This is promising to be our most serious wine and music collaboration to date.’
