The Great Sherry Tasting 2013, to be held in London on 20 October, has announced that it will officially be the world’s largest, with over 180 sherries to try.
No big generic would be complete without a couple of tutored tastings from one of the big dogs, and The Great Sherry Tasting is no different, bringing in Mr Sherry himself, Beltrán Domecq, president of the CRDO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry & Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda, to lead the seminars.
Graham Hines, UK director of The Sherry Institute of Spain said, ‘We are genuinely delighted with the increased number of exhibitors in this year’s Great Sherry Tasting, which is set to be our biggest and best yet. The response from our on- and off-trade participants has also been fantastic. This is yet further evidence of the continued growth of the sherry category in the UK, which is very encouraging.’
