Champagne Pommery will be the Champagne Academy’s presidential house for 2017. Founded in 1956, the Academy is a collaboration between 16 top grandes marques and offers in-depth champagne education for UK wine trade professionals.

Only 16 candidates are chosen for the Academy’s week-long course every year, where they learn about every aspect of champagne, via visits to the different houses and extensive tastings. Successful candidates are awarded a Champagne Academy Diploma.

A record number of people applied to attend the course in 2017. Sara Hicks, UK director of Champagne Pommery said, ‘I would encourage any young champagne enthusiasts from the wine or hospitality trades to seize this extraordinary opportunity to immerse themselves in all things champagne, as well as build networks and friendships that will last a lifetime.’
