Generation Riesling prepares Wine Xperience

A new international internship programme aims to give young wine trade professionals the chance to work at a top German wine estate.
The Generation Riesling Wine Xperience, launched by the German Wine Institute (GWI), will see producers such as Weingut Georg Breuer and Weingut Winzerfamilie Flick host interns for a minimum of two weeks.
Candidates must be young professionals working in the food and drink industry, and must be willing to share their experiences through those new-fangled social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
‘We have run trips to Germany for sommeliers and the trade in recent years, and participants always come back with renewed enthusiasm for German wines,’ said Nicky Forrest, managing director of Wines of Germany.
‘This initiative goes one step further, providing a great opportunity for up-and-coming members of the trade to learn from the experts about what makes Germany such a special wine-producing country.’
Application forms are available online from the new Wines of Germany website
