Imbibe had a very instructive afternoon recently with Bombay Sapphire, smelling and tasting our way through every one of their 10 botanicals in the company of global brand ambassador Merlin Griffiths.

And there were more than a few surprises – coriander seed that was more citrusy than the more marmalade-like lemon peel, nutty, warm liquorice and grains of paradise that smelled floral, but tasted hot and peppery.
This was then followed by a blind nosing, in which we had to identify half a dozen different botanical mixes.
Fascinating and instructive stuff.
