Wine Trade rugby update

The Wine Trade rugby team, part of the Wine Trade Sports Club, recently played in the quarter finals of the Neptune City Sevens competition. Although the team was beefed up by highly skilled players from Pol Roger, Bibendum Wine, Gordon Ramsay Holding, Independent merchants, MCW & Fine and Rare Wines – they were narrowly beaten by the Honorary Artillery Company (HAC). The proud sponsors of the match were Berry Brothers & Rudd & Pol Roger.
They may have missed victory on this occasion but the team have met with more than their share of success: they won their last match of the season 45 – 15 vs Deloittes at Rosslyn Park on Wednesday 28th April – a match sponsored by Sharps Brewery – meaning that they only lost one match out of five in their first season.
Players are recruited throughout the Wine Trade and new players are always welcome to join the scrum. There are already five fixtures planned for the 2010/11 season. For more information please contact the rugby secretary: paul.graham@polroger.co.uk
