Armagnac aperitifs

Bas Armagnac producer Maison Samalens has created a lovely new trio of armagnacs called Single de Samalens, so named because they are all made from a single grape: Ugni Blanc.
The aim was to create an aperitif-friendly range of armagnacs with the richness and dryness of a single malt whisky, and introduce people to new ways of drinking the spirit.
Aged in Gascon oak casks, it comes in three expressions: a floral, liquorice-inflected 8yo, a charming 12yo full of chewy dried figs, almonds and beeswax, and a light-footed 15yo with notes of morello cherries, incense and a slightly savoury balsamic note.
