A grave procession

Ocho day of the dead

Ocho Tequila’s limited edition Day of the Dead bottle was launched last week with a torch-led procession through Covent Garden.

The bottle was created to celebrate Mexican Dia de los Muertos, and contains tequila from this year’s harvest of the Los Mangos fields in the Los Altos region.

The procession began at Café Pacifico in Covent Garden, complete with requisite mariachis and face painting, before moving through Covent Garden Market, and returning to Café Pacifico.

‘The day of the dead in Mexico honours those that have passed away and celebrates the whole life force and how precious life is. The Mexican culture is founded on spiritualism, and day of the dead is an event that richly expresses that,’ says Tomas Estes, co-founder of Ocho, founder of Café Pacifico, and ambassador for tequila to Europe. ‘Ocho has done a commemorative bottle design to highlight this colourful and profound holiday.’
