Drunken Monkey Tea Party

Chinese-themed Shoreditch bar and restaurant Drunken Monkey has launched a new Tea Party Menu, offering a huge range of oriental teas, tea-infused cocktails and cakes.

The menu of twelve teas ranges from classic Chinese green tea with jasmine petals, a tea called Morning Dew featuring large leaf sencha, sunflower, cornflower and rose petals which can be taken hot or cold, a deluxe white leaf tea and Gu Zhang Silver Jian, a rare Chinese green tea which is only harvested for 10 days in spring.

Bar manager Chistian Cuevas has also created a range of tea cocktails – all served in teapots – including a recipe marrying Japanese sencha tea with quince liqueur, cinnamon liqueur and orange peel. The theme continues with homemade organic cupcakes laced with jasmine tea and star anise.
