So you want to visit Germany?
Sommeliers are wanted to attend the German Wine Institute’s Sommelier Spring Class 2011 – assembling 50 of the world’s best sommeliers in the country’s wine regions in April.
The trip includes a visit to the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) trade fair, the Mainzer Weinbörse, which features a chance to taste the 2010 vintage for the first time, as well as winery visits and seminars at the Geisenheim Institute.
Meanwhile, best bib and tucker is required for an evening with the VDP at its annual celebration ball at the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden.
