A roof with a view

Frank's, Peckham

Peckham might not be the first place you think of when contemplating places to hunt out fine food and a stiff drink, but until September, that’s exactly what you’ll find. Undoubtedly one of the more surreal drinking experiences in London’s repetoire, Frank’s Café and Campari Bar is back for a third summer run.

Up on the 10th floor of a largely disused multi-story car park, the bar offers some of the capital’s most beautiful views, as well as some great aperitif-style cocktails, all priced satisfyingly close to the £5 mark. The food is simple, but perfectly executed: squid with chilli and rocket quite possibly steals the show.

Just to add a little something extra, Frank’s is opened in conjunction with the Bold Tendencies art exhibition. Installations are dotted around the upper floors of the building and include 3m tall inflatable rats singing power ballads to one another, and – in a nod to the area’s illustrious heritage – Del Boy’s yellow reliant is parked up on the top floor.

10th Floor, Peckham Multi-Story Car Park, 95A Rye Lane, London SE15 4ST 07582 884 574 (Enquiries only, no bookings taken)
