BrewDog Ghost Deer

BrewDog have continued their interest in taxidermy, with the installation of a font encased in a stuffed moose head in their Edinburgh bar.

The tap will be in situ for one month and dispenses the brewery's new Ghost Deer beer – a golden Belgian ale – which weighs in at a whopping 28% abv, costing £9.99 per glass.

The beer has been created to answer critics of BrewDog's previous high-strength beers – Sink the Bismarck! and Tactical Nuclear Penguin – they had been created using an ice distillation technique, which some felt excluded it from the beer category. In contrast, Ghost Deer has been brewed using only traditional fermentation techniques, yet has still hit the heights of 28% abv.

James Watt, BrewDog co-founder commented, 'At 28% Ghost Deer the world’s strongest fermented beer, ever. It is fermented using three different yeast strains then aged in six different oak casks for over six months before being served from a deer’s head; it’s more complex than anything we’ve produced before,’
