The Carluccio's chain of restaurants has announced that it will be trialling a new 'Aperitivo Bar' concept in two locations, West Smithfield, London and Reading, with a view to tap into the after-office market.

The venues' delicatessen areas are set to be transformed, with softer lighting, an increase in upholstered seating areas, and a number of high-topped bar tables.

The drinks selection will also be boosted, but true to the brand's identity, the list will be entirely Italian, with a range of draught and bottled beers, a regional wine list and a selection of different-flavoured Bellinis. There will also be a special menu of ever-stylish small plates to pick at, including the intriguing sounding fried pasta crisps.
