Gin’s got no shortage of history, but its future’s bright too. Michael Turback’s new book, All the Gin Joints, is a celebration of this.

Highlighting the spirit’s use in contemporary cocktail culture, the book includes 101 original drinks from bars in the US. He incorporates history and new techniques, and covers both new- and old-style gins. Turback, after a career as a restaurateur and saloonkeeper, has written books on subjects as diverse as the Finger Lakes wine country and hot chocolate.
