The private trinity

Joining Finealta and Sonnalta in Glenmorangie's Private Edition range is new Artein.
Consisting of 15- and 21-year-old malts, and weighing in at 46% abv, Artein undergoes some additional maturation in Super Tuscan wine casks. The name of this new addition, which means 'stone' in Scots Gaelic, refers to the Hilton of Cadboll Stone near the distillery, as well as the limestone that filters the water used to produce the whisky. In addition, Glenmorangie's head of distilling and whisky creation, Dr Bill Lumsden, mentions the influence of stone on wine grapes, and those used to produce Super Tuscans in particular.
The result, available from later this month, has a UK RRP of £69.99.
