Mad dogs and wild men

Flying Dog Kujo

Flying Dog continues to explore the extremes of both brewing and beer marketing with two upcoming launches.

The first is Kujo, an 8.9% abv Imperial Coffee Stout with a suitably rabid label by illustrator Ralph Steadman. The beer is a limited release, and will be available in the UK through James Clay from April.

Brewmaster Matt Brophy commented: 'We like to say that Kujo is the savage spawn of two brewing worlds – coffee and beer – colliding.'

The next release, arriving on these shores in May, is Wildeman Farmhouse IPA (7.5% abv). This one is a year-round release, the brewery's first since its Belgian-style IPA, Raging Bitch. Wildeman was originally created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of In de Wildeman bar in Amsterdam.

'The beer captures the essence of Wildeman and literally tastes like insanity,' said James Clay's speciality beer consultant Nigel Stevenson, in a bid for best tasting note of the year.

It's worth checking out Flying Dog's promo video for Wildeman.
