Pilsner Urquell, currently celebrating its 170th birthday, recently crowned Kim Daniel Bergerson from Norway its International Master Bartender for 2012.
Bergerson (pictured) competed in Pilsen, Czech Republic, against finalists from 10 other countries, in the seventh year of this competition. Competitors were subjected to a written test, a taste test, and an interview. The 10,000 euros prize will no doubt come in handy, considering Bergerson opened a beer-led restaurant just two weeks ago. He's also won a trophy to put on his new back bar, and a trip to a European city to experience its beer culture.
Paul Seagraves, from Tweedies Bar in the Lake District, was Great Britain's representative in the comp.
The beer brand also celebrated its anniversary by projecting a seven-minute video about its history onto a cathedral in Pilsen.
