Italian low-abv spirit brand Italicus is bringing back its Art of Italicus Aperitivo Challenge for a second year. This time around, the competition will be even bigger, calling on bartenders in 13 countries to participate.
The competition tasks contestants with creating an original aperitivo-style cocktail inspired by some form of art, using a minimum of 40ml Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto. In your recipe submission, please include measurements, a suggested garnish, glassware and overall presentation. You can even suggest a food pairing, if you wish!
Eight successful bartenders from each country will move on to the national finals, which will be held between July and October. Competitors will prepare and present their cocktail in front of a panel of judges, and they'll be marked on their interaction, brand knowledge and presentation – and their cocktail, of course.
The winner of each national final will get to move on to the global final, to be held in November in a yet-to-be-announced European city. That ultimate face-off will see competitors from around the world battle it out for the title of Italicus Global Bar Artist of the Year 2019, as well as an internship at one of the World's 50 Best Bars.
