If you thought Argentina was all about big, hefty reds, this event will be a real eye-opener.
Ver Sacrum was the brainchild of a small group of viticultors/ winemakers, baptized as “Team Grenachista”. Aiming to produce a comeback of the Mediterranean varieties that Argentina lost after the 1950´s in favour of Malbec plantings, Winemaker, Eduardo Soler, has thrown away the rule book to create a range of beautifully elegant, delicate, aromatic yet highly expressive wines.
His mission is to re-focus our minds on some of the original Mendoza plantings of Mediterranean varietals like Garnacha, Syrah and Monastrell amongst others, including, surprises such as Nebbiolo and Mencia. One of the key winemaking factors is very little (or no) skin contact during fermentation, so the wines appear delicate in colour but pack incredible concentration and wave after wave of nuanced complexity.
Join Eduardo as we journey through what he describes as a ‘tiny and non-conventional operation’ and we taste the stunning results.
