Australia Day tasting 2017 – London

The Australia Day tasting, the largest annual trade tasting of Australian wine outside Australia, is taking place around the country this January. Starting on 24 January in London.

Over 1000 wines will be available to taste, covering 65 different regions across five states, mixing the latest vintages with older varieties.

The tasting will include three masterclasses and many focus tables, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Australian wine.

Brickwood Coffee & Bread will also be running an Australian pop-up café.

Masterclasses taking place on the day are:

11am – 12pm Adelaide Hills Chardonnay
Presented by The Lane's Marty Edwards and Shaw + Smith's Dan Coward this class will explore Adelaide Hills Chardonnay – a leader in 'New Australian – New Wave' Chardonnay.

1pm – 2pm Australia's age-worthy whites
Wine Australia's Mark Davidson and Emma Symington MW talk will cover Australia’s most iconic white wine styles. You will also be invited to taste three vintages of Tyrrell’s Vat 1 Semillon, Tahbilk Marsanne and Pewsey Vale Contours Riesling across three decades.

3pm – 4pm McLaren Vale's Great Grenache
Led by The Wine Detective, Sarah Ahmed, this session will explore McLaren Vale Grenache.
